HISTORYThe Backyard Batter Pro started out years ago in Arkansas, when the inventor, who noticed his neighbor “attempting” to soft-toss with his son. That sparked an idea for a machine. After a few years of development, modifications and quality improvements, the Backyard Batter was born. Today, the Backyard Batter Pro model is the go-to training machine for hitters of all ages.
A few years ago, the Sandlot Sports Academy (Sandlot Sports Group LLC) acquired the business, after utilizing this machine in its training facility for 16 years ! It is now Veteran Owned and Woman Owned and proudly made on-site in Corning NY, located in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of Upstate Western New York.
The Backyard Batter Pro is NOT a pitching machine but a true 'soft-toss" training machine. It consistently bounces/tosses the ball in the same spot every time! It is fast becoming the "go to" training tool for baseball, fastpitch and slowpitch softball, and even some tennis players.

Backyard Batter Pro is lightweight, rugged and very durable. Made from USA steel, aluminum and one of Dupont's toughest polymers. Fabrication is all done by hand in our workshop. The BBP comes with a 1 year warranty BUT it will last for years, with proper care. The only replacement part really needed is the "trampoline's industrial bands," which are $12. They should last approx 1 year, even longer. (note: see our Training & Tips page for details on proper care for longer life) The Sandlot Sports Academy, in Corning NY has been using the same machine in its facility for more than 10 years now and its still going strong! 12" Softballs, baseballs, even tennis balls can all be used with the Backyard Batter Pro, with a simple 1-minute switch of the wheel. Take it on the road for proper warm-ups before games! Takes less than 5 minutes to set up. Can operate off the rechargeable battery (average 1000-1500 pitches, sometimes much more) or simply plug into any outlet. Note: battery and charger are included.
